August 27th has become something of a 'lucky day' for XPeng Motors. On this date in 2017, founder He Xiaopeng joined the company; in 2020, XPeng was listed on the New York Stock Exchange; and in 2024, the company launched its hit model—the MONA M03.

Continuing this tradition, XPeng has unveiled the highly anticipated all-new P7 at their Guangzhou super factory on August 27, 2025.

The new vehicle comes in four variants: the 702 Long Range Ultra starting at $30,200, the 820 Long Range Ultra at $32,900, the 750 AWD High-Performance Ultra at $35,700, and the 750 AWD Wing Ultra at $41,500. When these prices were announced, the venue erupted in applause.

While some may not be familiar with the previous-generation XPeng P7, it was considered revolutionary when it debuted. Its forward-thinking design and intelligent features showed consumers what a future smart car could be.

Five years later, the all-new XPeng P7 returns with comprehensive improvements in design, performance, and range—transformed into what the company describes as an intelligent partner rather than just a vehicle.

In football, the number 7 jersey traditionally belongs to a team's creative playmaker—the core star who changes the game. Stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, and Raúl have all worn this iconic number.

This was no small challenge, considering the previous P7's success. The design team started with styling, creating a car with athlete-like proportions and a perfect stance. The result is visually striking yet balanced.

Creating such a bold design carried risks—it could either captivate or alienate potential buyers. However, feedback since the unveiling suggests XPeng made the right bet, with the majority of reactions embracing the futuristic aesthetic.

If the striking design represents the P7's 'A-side,' its track performance is the even more impressive 'B-side.'

Recently, the all-new XPeng P7 completed a grueling 24-hour endurance race at Zhejiang International Circuit, covering an impressive 3,961 kilometers non-stop. Even more remarkable, it set a fastest lap time of 1:38.767, ranking fifth on the leaderboard—the only vehicle priced under $41,200 to break into the top ten.

What makes the P7 so capable? It starts with its performance credentials: launch-control-enabled 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.7 seconds and a braking distance of just 33.16 meters. The engineers achieved a perfect 50:50 front-rear weight distribution—a sports car ideal that provides exceptional stability during high-speed cornering. An intelligent suspension system seamlessly switches between comfort and sport modes to optimize the driving experience.

XPeng's advanced three-electric system serves as another key advantage. This includes an 800V platform for more efficient energy transfer, a range exceeding 800 km to eliminate range anxiety, and 5C ultra-fast charging capability that enables adding 525 km of range in just 10 minutes—essentially a full charge in the time it takes to enjoy a quick refreshment.

This P7 Has a 'Soul'

While the striking exterior and impressive performance represent the P7's 'muscles,' its true 'soul' lies in its artificial intelligence. XPeng's vision wasn't simply to build a car but to create an intelligent companion that understands its driver.

The all-new P7 is equipped with a powerful AI system comprising 3 XPeng-developed Turing AI chips and 1 Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, delivering up to 2250 TOPS of computing power. According to XPeng, this processing capability equals nine NVIDIA Orin-X chips combined, placing it at the top of the global automotive AI rankings.

One of the P7's most innovative features is its four-zone external voice interaction system. When approaching a parking space, the driver can exit the vehicle, stand nearby, and simply say, "Hey Xpeng, park the car." The P7 will then autonomously park itself.

This functionality is enabled by eight microphones and two speakers positioned around the vehicle's exterior, allowing it to accurately recognize voice commands from different directions. The system incorporates dual security measures—voiceprint recognition plus car key verification—ensuring it responds only to authorized commands. This represents the first successful extension of intelligent interaction from inside to outside the vehicle.

Inside the cabin, the centerpiece is a 15.6-inch three-axis flexible central control screen. Unlike conventional displays, this screen uses the same 3-axis technology as XPeng's robotic arms, allowing it to move in multiple directions.

When the voice assistant is activated with "Hey Xpeng," the screen subtly turns toward the speaker; when the system detects potential hazards, it pivots to alert the driver; and when reversing or activating "Racer Mode," it automatically orients itself toward the driver. These personified responses make AI interaction feel warm and intuitive rather than cold and mechanical.

AWD variants include an exclusive feature—simulated engine sounds. Drivers can activate "Internal Combustion Storm" or "Supernova" mode to experience engine notes inside the cabin. Importantly, these sounds are audible only to occupants; the exterior remains silent, providing an exciting yet socially responsible driving experience.

Targeting Top Three in Its Class

The launch of the all-new XPeng P7 represents a strategic move in a highly competitive segment. The company's stated goal is to secure a position among the top three in its class, and production capacity has been scaled accordingly.

The P7 enters an extremely challenging market dominated by established players including the Tesla Model 3, Xiaomi SU7, and BYD Han. Success in this segment requires not just an excellent product but substantial resources and staying power.

Shortly before the P7's launch, XPeng released its Q2 2025 financial results, which bolstered market confidence. The company reported total revenue of $25.1 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 125.3%—a new quarterly record. The company's gross margin reached 17.3%, with cash reserves of $65.4 billion.

This substantial financial position gives XPeng the resources to compete aggressively through investments in R&D, channel expansion, and marketing. For the all-new P7, this financial strength provides crucial backing for its ambitious market goals.

Delivery volumes also show promising momentum. In Q2, XPeng delivered 103,200 new vehicles, with Q3 guidance projecting between 113,000 and 118,000 units. This growth trajectory creates a solid foundation for the all-new P7's market entry.
