On July 24th, Geely unveiled a mid-cycle update for its Galaxy E5 electric vehicle, featuring extended range, smarter technology, and enhanced safety and comfort features—all while maintaining its original price range of $15,200 to $20,200 across five trim levels.

Significant Range Improvements

The most notable upgrade comes in battery capacity: the long-range variant now achieves 610km (up from 530km), while the base model jumps from 440km to 530km. The 610km version also adds vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, with 6.5kWh of its additional 8kWh capacity available for camping or emergency power needs.

Advanced Technology Integration

Tech upgrades include the new Flyme Auto OS with features like green-wave navigation (which optimizes for traffic light timing), car wash mode, and an improved voice control system that now recognizes 32 vehicle commands and 6 media instructions. The heads-up display and Flyme Sound audio system have also received refinements.

The "Thousand Miles Vast H3" ADAS suite brings highway Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) and automated parking capabilities, while standard equipment includes 360° cameras, keyless entry, built-in dashcam, and a power-adjustable driver's seat.

Design Refinements

Two new colors—"Twilight Green" and "Dawn Blue"—expand the palette to eight options. The E5 retains its sleek design (4615mm length, 2750mm wheelbase) with flush door handles and aerodynamic wheels.

Inside, tri-color theme options accompany a layered dashboard featuring a 10.2" instrument cluster, 15.4" touchscreen, and panoramic sunroof. Geely's CTB architecture enables 67.2% space utilization, with a 1891mm cabin length and fold-flat seats creating a lounge mode.

Performance and Safety

The powertrain remains unchanged: a 160kW/320Nm single motor (0-100km/h in 6.9s) with MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension—now with 20% better damping through virtual tuning.
